Pictures of making the cheese...

The milk warming up in the pot.

The lemon juice.

Pouring the lemon juice into the milk.

Taking the curds out of the whey.

More curds.

Looking at the curds that are still in the whey.

All the curds out.

Pressed and drying cheese.

This recipe is really easy and fun to make extra milk into cheese. The older the milk the softer the cheese.

So,

We finished up putting posts and fence in the back of the "pasture". The goats kept getting out of the electric fencing last year so, we had to put real fencing up this year. But, we are really slowing down on the hay so, it's worth it.

Because I have been into Narnia so much lately I decided to make a few signatures from different quotes from the books. Not really sure how great they look but, oh well.

The very first time I pet a goat...

Heh...

Sorry I have been so cheesy in my posting lately! As far as farm news...

I actually sold a goat this year!!! That was cool. Good bye Chuckers!
I have some one else coming to tomorrow to "look" at some other ones I have up for sale but, she's already taking about how her daughter is going to hold her in her lap and stuff like that so *eek!* hopefully, I have one and maybe two sold!

Worked outside today too. Moved our apple tree out of the goat pasture so that *ahem* they would stop eating it.

All the lilacs are in bloom. They smell SOOO good. We have a bunch all around in the house.

Made the first goat cheese of the year! Excited to see how that tastes. It was a vinegar cheese. I also made some fudge with goat milk in it. Haven't ever made that before so, I will have to see if it tastes good.

Also, I have been busy with other stuff. I read all the Chronicles of Narnia (I think I said in a few posts back that I got them for my birthday) so, I got to thinking about how I had never seen any maps of Narnia (or at least ALL of Narnia in one big map) and since there were some small maps that went along with some of the books I decided to make my own map. I taped a bunch of pieces of paper together and colored it and everything. I'm going to find a way to get it on my computer and then I will show it to you, "My Readers".

I also made a "Narniaian" style dress. I'm going to have Danielle take pictures of me once it clears up.

(Which, BTW, it rained a ton last week and it is starting to clear up this week.)

ALSO, I'm working on carving a sword which, when it is done you will get pictures of too. Personally, I think it is going pretty good. I have to finish the end and the hilt up then, it will be done.

Yesterday, we went to a gun show to help a friend out and I saw the coolest swords there. They were a lot heavier then my little wood sword that's for sure!

I have been promoting a lot of movies lately but, if you want a really good laugh, go out and buy Bolt. It is so dang funny!!! There is your standard Disney butt joke but, other then that it is the funniest movie I have seen in a long time!
