Update on the babies...

We did do their horns a while ago. I'm glad we are done with that for the year! They are all doing great. And getting big. It has been kind of cold so, I haven't gotten any pictures in a while.

Happy Belated New Year!

According to the Astronomically and Agriculturally Biblical Hebrew Calendar the new year started on 3/29/09. So, today is actually the 4th. If you want to find out more about the Astronomically and Agriculturally Biblical Hebrew Calendar go to YouTube and type in the search engine "The Creators Calendar Michael Rood" and it should come up.

Chuckers has...

...decided that drinking from the bottle is "cheap" and because he knows quality, only drinking from momma will do. And he has informed us that he is going to die over this one! So, whenever we go out to milk/feed we have to let him nurse off of Merrylegs and then milk her out for Big Buck. Shesh. It seems like he laughs at the other babies when we feed them like "you can buy cheap purses from the dollar store if you want but, I'm going to buy from Coach."

We need to do their horns soon. Aviv doesn't have any buds though so, we will have to do her later. The other three have serious buds!

Chodesh a.k.a Pigtails

Don't her ears look like pigtails? She is so cute!

This is Merrylegs pregnant.

And this is Merrylegs not:-)

Me with all the bottles

Personally, I think that I look too happy to be going outside to feed animals. I guess it shows how much I love them:-).
See that Jeep hat? Well, that is my favorite (and only) baseball cap I have and I wear it all the time. Mom and dad joke around about taking it away from me so that they can see my face once in a while:-)

Gimping mood...

I was in the Gimping mood so here are a few pictures that I did.

This is "Thumblina". The quarter is for scale. "Yes, goats do come in all shapes and sizes!":-)

Here is monster goat on a mountain. Did I say that goats can come in all shapes and sizes?

And the goat jumped over the moon.

Aviv with a dollar taped to her back...

Dad asked me if I could put a dollar bill on Aviv's side for a better comparison.

Perspective...

Thought this was a cool perspective. Hadassah in the front, Betsy in the back.

Baby goat video...

Here is a video I took today of all the babies. I was going to do some cool captions but, I couldn't get it to import to blogger with all the different file types and all that junk. Our camera isn't the greatest when it comes to video. The black space 3/4 into the movie was a chicken laying an egg but, too dark in there to get it on camera.

Pictures of outside

Here are some pictures I took today at the back of our property where the ditch/drain runs through. It is a cool place to be.

And this is a boat that Danielle made out of a water bottle. It floats but, it can't get very far because of all the grass that is in the drain. She even painted it herself. (And we made the little people too.)

More Pictures

For size comparison, on the left is "Big Buck" and on the right are four of our chickens

Another comparison, Vashti on the left and Chodesh on the right

These last four babies are really tiny and cute. Either that or Vashti and Hadassah were just big babies!

Kidding Season Is Over:-(!

Merrylegs had her babies tonight! When we went outside to feed Vashti, Hadassah, and Clovers babies for the last time for the night she had already had two boys. So kidding season has officially ended! *Sniff "Kidding Season is fun" sniff* If the boys are good then I’m going to try to sell them if not we are going to eat them. Dad had to work today (today is Monday (dad usually has it off)) to make up for last Thursday when the power was out down at his work. We had a lady come and buy Casizal (one of Danielle's bunnies). Or Boo and she is now called. The lady had a three year old girl with her. She was cute. Her name was Erin. Mom, Danielle, and I made a little trench in the back to the ditch in the back of our property to try to drain out our woods of all the water that builds up when all the snow melts. Dad and mom took us to Wendy’s and we got a Frosty. It felt good after working outside on the trench. It was a nice day out though. We decided to name the first born of Clover's babies Aviv and the breech baby Chodesh. Aviv is a Hebrew agricultural term for when the barley is ripe and will dry out nicely when put into fire. When the barley is Aviv and the next sliver of the new moon (or Chodesh) is sighted you count 14 days and then it is Passover. (See we can call the breech baby Chodesh because it just depends how you look at the sliver of the new moon. In other words, you have to sight the new moon from Jerusalem:-)

Clover had her babies (15th)!!!

They are both girls! The baby on the right was born first. Then the black on the left was a breech baby. Thank you Clover! That was an exciting birth. Plus, when she came out her umbilical cord hadn't broken yet. Danielle had to run up to the house to get some scissors. Shesh.

We are thinking about naming the second born Chôdesh which, in Hebrew, means
1) the new moon, month, monthly
1a) the first day of the month
1b) the lunar month
The only problem I see is that the crescent on her head is waning and not waxing. Which would make it an old moon, or something?:-) We are still thinking about it though. Haven't thought of a really good one for the first born.

This was Clover a few days before she had them. She looks so big but, the babies were actually pretty small.

Cute Clover

Danielle harasses me about picking the weirdest goat pictures and then putting them on my blog but, I like them. This picture of Clover reminds me of a mule for some reason.

Bathroom redone and update on the babies

Mom got the bug to redo the bathroom so, on Thursday we repainted it. I think it turned out great. The color is called "Brown Tepee".

Vashti and Hadassah are doing great. They are getting bigger each day. We got to try a little insy tinsy bit of milk today. It was so exciting. We haven't had real milk in at least six months so this was a treat.
